Group Life Insurance

Turning Stone Enterprises provides a competitive Group Life Insurance policy for eligible full-time team members. Hourly team members receive $25,000 and salaried team members receive $50,000 of company-paid term life insurance. This coverage also includes Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance equal to the team members group life benefits amount. Coverage is portable and guaranteed issue upon initial eligibility. Group life insurance is effective on the 91st day of full time employment.


Supplemental Life Insurance

Eligible full-time team members are offered the option of purchasing additional term life insurance on themselves, their spouse, and/or their dependent children. The amount available and medical certification is dependent upon eligibility requirements.

Coverage amounts:
  • Team member: $25,000 to $150,000
  • Spouse: $12,500 to $75,000 (subject to medical certifications, depending on the amount request)
  • Children: $2,500, $4,000, $5,000 or $10,000 (under the age of 19 or up to age 23 for verified full-time students)

Team members can select this coverage during their initial enrollment period, effective on their 91st day of full-time employment, or during an annual open period. Team members who do not select this coverage upon initial eligibility will need to complete a medical questionnaire to apply for coverage after their initial eligibility.


Life & Accidental Death Life Insurance

Team members are required to select a beneficiary for their life insurance when completing their initial enrollment forms. Date of birth, social security number, and relationship to team member are required to assign a beneficiary. The team member is automatically named as the beneficiary on life insurance coverage for a spouse or dependents. Beneficiary information can be changed at any time.

Short Term Disability Insurance

Short Term Disability Insurance – Statutory disability covers 50% of lost wages up to $170 per week for up to six months. Turning Stone Enterprises pays 76% of the premium for this coverage on all team members. In addition, Supplemental short term disability coverage is available for eligible team members. Coverage supplements NY State Disability benefits to ensure that team members receive the percentage of disability earnings they are eligible for (50% for full time hourly team members, and 60% for full time salary team members). Turning Stone Enterprises pays 100% of the premium for this coverage. All disability benefit earnings are determined based on the pay received eight weeks prior to the disability date.


Long Term Disability Insurance

Full-time team members are offered the option of electing Long Term Disability coverage. This coverage replaces up to 60% of an team members pay if disabled for longer than six months. Long-term Disability Insurance Coverage cost is based on the team members salary and age, and is payable through convenient pre-tax payroll deduction. Premiums are updated twice per year, in April and October, to account for changes in salary. Team members can elect this coverage during their initial enrollment period, effective on their 91st day of full-time employment, or during an annual open period. Team members who do not elect this coverage upon initial eligibility will need to complete a medical questionnaire to apply for coverage after their initial eligibility.


Oneida Indian Nation Worker’s Compensation

The Oneida Nation has established a Workers Compensation program to provide coverage for team members who experience a valid work-related injury or illness. This coverage is administered by a third party provider called Tribal First. Workers Compensation benefits include payment of related medical expenses and replacement of wages. It is very important for team members to report any work related injury or illness to their supervisor immediately. Further details and information are available from Human Resources.
